Selection of Navarre's Social Avant-Garde Films.
We will screen a selection of 3 short films by filmmakers from Navarre that deal with social issues of social urgency. We will talk with the filmmakers and the audience will be able to approach their creative visions and the topics they propose.

Short film screening - "The corniche básque and the pampas duster."
Monika Aranda (Pamplona, Spain) Develops her artistic practice from a contemporary perspective, in the context of research and anchored in two main axes: Gender and Nature. In each project she explores different artistic languages: intervention, installation, photography, audiovisual, painting and performance that invite reflection and propose new forms of eco-social transformation.

Basabi is a quintet formed by Marina Barredo (viola), Ricardo de Lucas (double bass), Iñigo Coto (violin), Sergio Lamuedra and Txomin Dhers (txalaparta). The group fuses classical and folk music with txalaparta and electronics, seeking to break down the barriers between genres. OMA His show OMA is a sonorous and visual journey about human intervention in nature. In it, Basabi uses electronics to create new soundscapes, accompanied by the visuals of Paula Segura. The name is a tribute to the Oma Valley, a natural site in the Basque Country.

The artist proposes to create a collective collage panel aimed at teenagers and proposes to start from facts, places and events of the past, transitioning through images, words, numbers, etc. towards a future that the audience imagines or recreates in some specific way...
Raúl Oloriz Espinal, (Pamplona 1978) 47 years old, collagist by vocation, and
Member of the collagist group of Iruñea Tacto Sutil Kollage Taldea, she teaches workshops for adults and children of initiation to collage and has held exhibitions in spaces such as Geltoki, Casa de Cultura de Tafalla, Museo de Castejón, Antheia Studio.

BRIF, BRAF, BRUF is a festival of children's literature and illustration that was born in 2020 with the aim of vindicating fantasy and inspired by the vision of the world of the writer Gianni Rodari. It takes place in the neighborhood of Txantrea. In its management and creation, the participation of children is a main objective. We have the presence of its director Maitena Muruzabal, as well as Fermín Lizarraga, both co-directors of the cinematographic pieces co-created with children that characterize each of the editions.

In the spring of 2024, artists Holly Miranda and Mikel Belascoain
They undertook a road trip from Bilbao to Berlin.
What began as a simple journey quickly transformed into a silent experiment in art, listening and possibility: an emotional meditation shaped by sound, image and the simple act of witnessing the present. This piece invites us to join the artists in imagining the future.

Holly Miranda (USA) Future (September 21, 1982) American singer-songwriter. Holly Miranda is an American singer-songwriter who lives and works in Woodstock (NY) with a long career in music. He began his career in the band The Jealous Girlfriends in New York and has collaborated with artists such as Lou Reed and Karen O. Committed to social causes, she is also a music producer.
In their only European concert, which is part of the Filmmaking for Social Change event, their performance will be a "prayer and musical energetic projection into the future".

CAMBIUM DIALOGUE AND FILM PROJECTION
The filmmakers Marina Lameiro and Maddi Barber propose a screening in dialogue with the protagonists of their film to bring the public closer to the meaning of this work.
CAMBIUM, the cellular stratum of trees, is a changing membrane that runs along the trunk and roots, producing growth. In the Navarrese Pyrenees, a community has decided to cut down a pine forest in order to recover old fields for cultivation and animal grazing, and the film traces the change of a territory traversed by practices of violence and care for the land.
Marina Lameiro Filmmaker and producer from Navarra known for her intimate documentaries. Her first feature film, Young & Beautiful (2018), was awarded internationally. Her most recent work is Cambium (2024). She is co-founder of Hiruki Filmak, a production company that supports women filmmakers.
Maddi Barber Filmmaker and visual anthropologist from Navarra. Her works have been exhibited at numerous festivals and art centers. In 2019, she founded the production company Pirenaika to promote her own films and those of other artists. She is currently developing her feature-length fiction film Claros del bosque as part of an artistic residency at Tabakalera.

This fiction piece portrays Charly González Lillo, the last living member of the rock band Los Bichos. Halfway between the western and Kerouac's literature, Charly finds on his way, angels, siren songs and the echoes of the ghosts of his past.

ATRIUM AND PLAZA
Civican will host the result of the sculptural and sonorous work carried out by
Arte Nuevo in collaboration with the American artist Holly Miranda, the Chemnitz School of Music (Germany) and the Lumbier Vocational Training Institute. The work presents the first part of a multi-year creative project that seeks to give a meditative and abstract vision of the Future of Europe through art and music.
Arte nuevo is an imaginary space of artistic creation born out of experimentation, hybridization, dialogue with other artists and the
generation of collective cultural initiatives.
